Introducing Shakespeare

There wasn't seats at a play, you just stand around and talk to your friends
No roof so if it rains you get wet.
Going to a shakespeare play was one of the only fun thing to do and was quite popular
No woman was allowed in plays so the woman parts were performed by women
No sets the background was the same for every play but there was props and costumes
Plays were always performed in the daytime
It costed a penny to get into the lower ground which was quite expensive back in the shakespare day
Most people in the lower ground got drunk
Crowd had to use their imagination of what the setting would look like
